Lando Norris Begins New McLaren Bromance With Pato O’Ward After His Key Simulator Test?
McLaren adds another trophy to its 2021 cabinet as Patricio O’Ward brought home his Indycar trophies. Having spent his week in MTC, Pato spent time with Zak Brown and the others in McLaren. As one would normally do, he took pictures at the boulevard, placed a couple of trophies in the cabinet, and of course, became friends with Lando Norris.
A growing name in McLaren’s IndyCar counterpart, Arrow, Pato has won twice in his 16 starts with the team. As he spent some time at the MTC, Pato looks to have befriended Lando Norris. Norris took to Instagram to celebrate the friendship as the two drivers went on a “date night”
Additionally, McLaren has fans riled up for new content as it teased an upcoming video with the two drivers. In the post, the Mexican is seen holding the word ‘lazy’ over his head and Lando chills on the adjacent couch; McLaren never disappoints with the good content!

What was Pato doing with Lando Norris at MTC?
Other than the video with Norris, Pato had an eventful few days at the McLaren Technology Centre. Starting his trip with touristy pictures around the boulevard, Pato brought along his film camera and had fun jumping into some legendary McLaren monocoque.

The Mexican also spent a lot of time with the operators on-site; the driver spent both the night and day shifts with the team. Pato also stepped into the simulator at the MTC, looking rather astounded after the experience.
However, more importantly, the championship runner-up brought home some beautiful trophies.

Having won in Texas and Detroit, O’Ward accompanied Zak Brown in placing the trophies in their rightful place. Now, alongside Norris’ podiums, and the Monza 1-2 trophies, one can be awed by McLaren’s success in IndyCar.
As McLaren continues to expand and find success in other series like IndyCar and E-sports, the culmination of the premier league awaits them. With six rounds to go and an improving rival team, McLaren F1 has a mammoth stint ahead of them. Will Norris and Ricciardo add to the cabinet as well? Or rather, will they bring home the desired P3 title?
