Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 Reportedly Pulls in Less Than 600,000 PPV Buys

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder went to war inside the ring on Saturday night in Las Vegas. While the heavyweight title trilogy fight exceeded expectations in the ring, it did not do as well on PPV. It paints a different picture from the in-person attendance at the T-Mobile Arena, where the two heavyweights fought in front of a packed electric crowd.

Reports suggest that the WBC and Ring title collision did just under 600,000 PPV buys. It was a massive drop from the estimated 800,000 PV buys that the second fight received in February 2020.

Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury got the first knockdown when he dropped Wilder in the third round of the fight. However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ turned the tide of the fight, knocking Fury down twice in the very next round. Fury and Wilder then went toe to toe for the next 6 rounds, with neither side willing to give up.

Towards the last few rounds, Deontay Wilder’s tank was running on empty. Tyson Fury took advantage of this and raised his game. Wilder barely survived rounds, refusing to give up. However, in the 11th round, Fury connected with a right hand that sent Wilder to the canvas, resulting in a KO.

What’s next for Tyson Fury?

Tyson Fury will go on a well-earned break following his fight. After he comes back from his break, he will have to face the WBC’s mandatory challenger. Currently, Dillian Whyte holds the WBC interim heavyweight title of the world. He will face Otto Wallin next. The winner of that fight will then challenge ‘The Gypsy King’.

Tyson Fury has already fought Otto Wallin. Back in 2019, Fury beat Wallin via decision. Dillian Whyte has not fought Fury. If he gets past Wallin, he will finally get a shot at the WBC title.
