WATCH: 105-Year-Old Lewis Hamilton Fan Shares His Pride in the Driver

Lewis Hamilton took some time off to get on a video call with a couple of his oldest fans. Len, who is now 105 years old, and his son, David made conversation with the seven-time champion.

The British duo shared how proud they were of the man representing their country. Other than the obvious talent that Lewis has, they gave another very notable reason they support the driver. “We’re so proud of you. And the fact that you thank everybody that supported you, your team back in Brackley, and all your engineers, you always thank them, and we are so proud of you, you know.”

Lewis, moved by the sentiment, explained why he includes everyone in his achievements. “I know that I couldn’t have gotten here on my own… I have this huge group of people behind me who are not in the limelight, they’re not all at the track, and for me, it’s important for them to know that I know I couldn’t have had this result if it wasn’t for them.”

In fact, the 105th birthday was yesterday! We hope you had a wonderful day, Len!

Lewis Hamilton and his loving fans

Lewis Hamilton, as a driver, draws a lot of his energy from his fans. The support and love given to him seldom go unnoticed by the driver. A man of his people, Lewis reciprocates on the track what he receives from his fans.

Hamilton’s energy when he stepped into Silverstone this year is very telling of this. His race, his weekend, and his reaction to having won his home race- all while the fans roared in approval of their driver; Hamilton knows how to give the fans what they want.

Like Len and David shared, Hamilton’s humble personality also draws a lot of people to him. It almost makes him relatable. As a seven-time champion with 100 victories, not one race win goes by without Hamilton thanking everyone and dedicating his win to the team.

Additionally, this isn’t the first time Mercedes and Hamilton have gotten together to surprise their supporters. Both online and offline, Hamilton has tried his best to stay connected to his fans and show them support; truly, a man of the people.

Now, as a tightening championship season funnels into an end, Hamilton will need all the support he can get. Now, as he heads to Austin six points behind Max Verstappen, every point counts.
