WWE legend Goldberg admits knee injury ‘won’t be completely healed’ before Crown Jewel match
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg on Raw in August 2021
WWE heavyweight Goldberg has insisted he’ll still be wrestling at Crown Jewel even though his knee isn’t ‘completely healed’.
The former world champion, who is set to face rival Bobby Lashley in a No Holds Barred match in Saudi Arabia next week, has opened up on his health status after previously revealing he suffered a knee injury during their bout at SummerSlam in August.
He told the CarCast podcast: ‘Knee’s much better. Hopefully it’ll be – I won’t be completely healed by then but it’ll be, suffice to say, in good enough shape to kick Bobby’s ass. Let’s just say that.’
Following the big SummerSlam match – which ended via referee stoppage when the All Mighty targeted Goldberg’s knee – WWE announced that he would need knee surgery.
In a video uploaded by the company, the WCW legend said: ‘Well, I got ligament damage and I have an impending knee surgery. Does that answer your question?’
He also fired a warning shot to Lashley after the former WWE Champion attacked Goldberg’s son Gage after their match, and that has become the focus of their feud.
He said at the time: ‘What I do care about is that dirty son of a b***h Bobby Lashley, and what he did to my son at SummerSlam.
‘I just left the house, Gage’s shoulder is all jacked up, his neck hurts. God knows what a dude that size could’ve done to my son.
‘So, the objective has changed. I’m not coming for the WWE Championship, I’m coming for Bobby Lashley’s soul, and I will rip it straight from his chest.’
Goldberg has plenty of history with WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows, and in February 2020 he defeated The Fiend in just three minutes – Bray Wyatt’s first loss under the mask – for the Universal Title.

The previous year – again at Super ShowDown – he faced The Undertaker in one of the most heavily criticised matches in recent memory, with referee Mike Chioda even considering ending it early due to concerns for their safety.
He previously told Metro.co.uk: ‘It went downhill after Goldberg got gashed open in the turnbuckle, got concussed. He was badly concussed and he got through the match, but barely.
‘That’s when I was kinda worried because I thought, “oh my God!” After the suplex, they almost broke their necks. “Oh my God, let’s get this done,” he was so concussed.’
