But Gabriela has swapped the jet set lifestyle for the forecourt and was pictured this week flogging new and used cars at a Hyundai dealership in York.

She says she wants to “learn the ropes” before opening her own car showroom.

Gabriela told The Sun on Sunday: “I love selling cars. If I sell a good one it feels like I’ve won the lottery.”

The Romanian twins hit the headlines when they appeared on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 with the Cheeky Song, written in just half an hour by their mum Margit.

Producer and show judge Pete Waterman branded them the “worst act ever” — but the fans loved them.

Gabriela’s song with her sister Monica called the ‘Cheeky Song’ sold 1.2million copies worldwide

The single went on to sell 1.2million copies worldwide and they had four top ten hits up to 2004.

Gabriela went on to date Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik. But spiralling debts, eating disorders and depression took their toll.

Margit said: “Let me ask you this: can you be a Cheeky Girl when you’re 60? She needs to have a business and realises that girl fashion is now cars. Women are changing their cars every year.”
