Hall of Famer Claims Brooklyn Nets Don’t Need Kyrie Irving to Win NBA Title

The Brooklyn Nets, amidst all the off-court chaos, completed the preseason 2021 with a 3-1 record. Handsomely beating teams like the Lakers without their Big Three and then defeating the 2021 NBA Champions with no Kyrie Irving proved that they’re a deep roster.

However, winning the preseason is one thing and continuing that momentum for 82+16 games is another. And with the EC getting stronger with teams like the Bulls and the Heat shifting gears, the Nets will not find it easy. So how are their chances if they’re to go through this season without Ky?

Will the absence of Kyrie Irving sting?

In a recent interview with Scoop B, Hall of Famer Reggie Miller clearly expressed how he always counted the Nets as finalists. Then, he took his belief in the Brooklyn-based organization a notch ahead when he added that they’re still the contenders without Kyrie Irving. 

And he isn’t alone, even the popular sportscasters in Zach Lowe and Monica McNutt feel the same way. They all unequivocally believe that with or without Ky, the Nets can do all the damage.

These are the claims not just important to the Nets, but also to the NBA league, which must want EC to be as strong as WC. For this to be the case, the Nets must play extraordinarily.

What do the Brooklyn Nets rely on?

Easily, the one thing Steve Nash will now need is his star duo staying healthy throughout the season. Moreover, he would want Joe Harris to deliver as a shooting guard, better than he ever did. 

Also, James Harden has already made it clear how he still carries enough confidence in the roster. Why won’t he? Kevin Durant is playing some of the best basketball of his career and The Beard is itching to win his first ring. So the Nets have still got ample of reasons to have faith in their offense without their 7x All-Star.
