HoYeon Jung, who stars as Kang Sae-byeok in Squid Game, has received heaps of praise for her performance, earning millions of followers on social media.
Squid Game has taken the streaming world by storm, becoming the most-watched show on Netflix ever, with 111m people tuning in.
With many newfound fans diving straight into the nine episodes, the brutal plot is being relentlessly discussed around the world.
One person who viewers quickly became attached to was North Korean defector Sae-byeok, who possesses very heartfelt reasons for entering the game.
While this is star HoYeon’s first acting role, she’s instantly become loved by fans and her popularity has seen her social media following sharply increase.
In recent days, she hit 20m followers on the picture sharing app and regularly receives over a million likes on her photos.

HoYeon was already known for her modelling career, which she is continuing to pursue after her role in the violent drama, but it seems the show has propelled her to a new level of fame.
She regularly shares snaps of her modelling and was recently announced as a new ambassador for Louis Vuiton.
In a recent interview, she spoke out on the fact that Sae-byeok’s motivation to win the money in Squid Game – to help her mum escape North Korea and to get her brother out of a shelter – did not necessarily mean she should win.
Speaking with NBC Asian America, she said: ‘Sae-byeok was desperate for the prize money and may have wanted to win, but thinking about the life she led up until what it took to be surrounded by all the dead bodies makes me hesitant to say.
‘In a way, I think Sae-byeok lived her life to the fullest, so her desperate need to win was different from the others and she didn’t necessarily have to earn the cash prize.’
Sae-byeok didn’t get a chance to get her hands on the prize money, after she was killed by Sang-woo just before the final game.
