Bob Arum Hints Two Big Fights for Tyson Fury in 2022

On October 9, Tyson Fury proved to the entire world why he’s the ultimate king of the heavyweights. The Brit put on a career-best performance against Deontay Wilder and defended his WBC title for the very first time. Fury was a favorite to win this epic trilogy, but Wilder put him in some deep trouble throughout the bout. Despite that, ‘The Gypsy King’ prevailed.

Hence, ‘The Gypsy King’ will only box champions or mandatory challengers. But the big question is, who will he face next?

Recently, Fury’s US promoter, Bob Arum, interacted with FightHub and revealed what could be next for the Lancashire native. He said, “Joshua and Usyk, I think they’re going to wait until April 4,” Arum said.

“I think Fury will fight again in March or April. Then we can look to a September or October match for a unification.” (h/t Independent)

Prior to facing Wilder this year, Fury was all set to get inside the squared circle against his compatriot, Anthony Joshua. However, due to certain factors, ‘AJ’ had to accept his bout against Oleksandr Usyk.

For Joshua vs Fury’s undisputed fight to come to life, it was vital for both the Brits to get past their next opponents. While Fury succeeded, Joshua failed. Hence, it is imperative that both men win their next fights. ‘The Gypsy King’ will fight Wallin/Whyte and ‘AJ’ is tracing a rematch with ‘The Cat’.

Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk? Who is a better opponent for Tyson Fury?

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury‘s matchup was in contention for a long time and fans desperately wanted to see the big men collide. If Fury keeps winning, Joshua, as a natural heavyweight, would be a better opponent as ‘The Gypsy King’ would outweigh Usyk by a colossal margin.

Given the ifs and buts, this matchup isn’t completely dead yet. However, a delayed fight will take away the interest and fans may not get to see the duo box each other at their peak.
