LeBron James’ Net Worth Compared With Popular Athletes Including Roger Federer and Floyd Mayweather

LeBron James created a stir when he became the first active NBA player to become a billionaire. With the help of strategic shoe deals, sound investment decisions, ownership of businesses, and diversification of the portfolio, Bron managed something extravagantly glorious even for elite athletes.

So the best part about The Akron Hammer was that he never counted the NBA as his only cash cow. But one such thinking is not limited to him. Every star athlete on that esteemed Forbes list follows a somewhat similar track. It’s like the secret sauce of multiplying multi-million dollars that the following list of people follow and indirectly compete with one another.

Out of a billion dollars, King James has earned $400 million as his NBA salary over the last 18 years. And the remaining $600 million have come from the various off-court investments that he has successfully made. His deals with Nike, Coca-Cola (now canceled), and others earned him handsomely. Plus his ownership in Liverpool FC, SpringHill Entertainment, Blaze Pizza, Uninterrupted, and other entities have all been successful too.

But how does he fare against a few other legends?

Roger Federer

Although King Federer last won Wimbledon (his eighth) in 2017, the man never stopped taking his financial curve upwards. In fact, in 2020, the Swiss maestro took over the throne as the world’s highest-paid athlete. Although his rank slumped in 2021, the man’s association with brands like Uniqlo, Rolex, Mercedes, Wilson, and others have all got him a great earning potential. Currently, his net worth stands tall at $450 million.

Floyd Mayweather

The man with a clean 50-0 career record is as flawless off the ring as he is in the ring. Floyd certainly stings like a bee when he knock out his opponents as a player and as a businessman. Having earned 1.1 billion+ in his career, the legendary boxer’s net worth stands as much as Federer’s $450 million. No wonder he sleeps on a bed of cash whenever he wishes to boast some of that junk.

Tiger Woods

The largely controversial and yet immensely successful golfer, Tiger Woods is an inspiration to many elite names in the sporting world. His comeback stories are nothing short of the best example of sheer talent and extreme hard work. As a result, even with many brands cutting him off during those days of controversies, the 45-YO boasts a figure of $800 million as his net worth.

Conor McGregor

Topping the highest-paid athletes’ chart of 2021, Conor is certainly a giant. He is someone who can lose his fight and yet come out as wealthier and more popular than his rival. No offense to Dustin Poirier here. Currently, the Irish MMA artist has $200 million to his name, but promises a sureshot chance to shoot for a billion.

After this, don’t be surprised if someone like Naomi Osaka soon enters one such list. The world is changing and LeBron James will have many new names chasing him in the game of dollars.
