“You’re Sick You’re Crazy”: Michael Jordan Watched In Silence As Dennis Rodman Owned By Heat Star

Alonzo Mourning is easily one of one of the toughest players that anybody could come across during his playing years. The Hall of Famer was known for being extremely verbal and never shying away from confronting his opponents. In fact, he didn’t hesitate to get into fights either, even if it was against Jordan’s team. Once, the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls were playing against each other in the playoffs. And Dennis Rodman got into Alonzo’s head so much that screamed at Rodman. Surprisingly, Michael Jordan did nothing about it.

Michael Jordan was a silent spectator?

NBA players used to avoid getting into scuffles around Jordan or even with him. He used to take everything personally and when that happened, he only got better on the court. There have been times that Michael Jordan got so mad that he made it a point to defeat that team, no matter the reason.

It’s only obvious that one would think that someone like him would come to his teammates’ rescue if they got into it with their opponent. But after what happened between Dennis Rodman and Alonzo Mourning, it seems like he doesn’t involve himself in other people’s battles.

During Rodman’s three seasons with the Chicago Bulls, whenever they played the Miami Heat, he always ran into an altercation with Alonzo. And during one of those times, Rodman pissed the Miami Heat star so bad, that he started cussing Rodman from the bench itself. He said, “You’re sick! You’re crazy!”. While all this was happening, MJ merely stood by and watched.

Dennis Rodman vs Alonzo Mourning

The Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls faced each other during the 1996 and 1997 NBA playoffs. However, both those times, Jordan and Rodman got the best of him. In their 1996 bout, the two teams met in the first round of the season. In this, Chicago swept Mourning’s Miami Heat.

However, in 1997, the teams matched up in the Eastern Conference Finals. Although this time they did not lose so easily, Rodman continued to get under Alonzo’s skin. So much that he had 27 turnovers in five of those games. And it seems like Jordan had his fun watching it happen. Unfortunately, the two may have gotten into his head, it was the Heat who won the 1996 NBA championship.
