‘Happy as Hell’: LeBron James, Steph Curry and NBA Stars Go Bonkers as Chicago Sky Win WNBA Championship

Michael Jordan wore the #23 jersey and made that number iconic. His last NBA title came in 1998 when the Chicago Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz. And now, exactly 23 years later, the city of Chicago is reveling in glory as they lift their first WNBA Championship. Naturally, the NBA fraternity led by LeBron James and others took no time to react to it.

While the NBA’s CP in Chris Paul fell short of winning the finals in 2021, WNBA’s CP in Candace Parker did not. The 35-YO played with grit and got her hometown exactly what it expected of the legendary name. 

LeBron James and others from the NBA are all game for the WNBA

The Chicago Sky defeated the Phoenix Mercury 80-74 in an epic NBA Finals game. Even with Brittney Grinner scoring a game-high 28 points, the combination of Allie Quigley and Candace Parker proved too good for their opponents. 

This got the biggest NBA names rolling in the mood. With LeBron James putting his instant reaction in an IG story, others like James Harden and Ja Morant took to Twitter and showed their support. Take a look –

Candace Parker scored a 16 point double-double and ensured that her homecoming is taken well. After having herself on the NBA 2K22 cover, this became the second-biggest achievement for the WNBA veteran. After leaving the Los Angeles Sparks (LeBron’s arguable favorites) post 13 seasons, this became a special win for the legend.

The city of Phoenix with a finals jinx

In a matter of three months, the valley has witnessed loss in two finals for their beloved basketball teams. Primarily, the Suns lost their series 2-4 even after winning the two opening home games. And now, the Mercury could manage only a single win.

However, one night (Game 2) when the Mercury had won their tie 91-86, Devin Booker was present in the stands, clicking pictures with a crazy camera. Here it is –
