How Weather Will Impact the United States F1 Grand Prix

Formula One is traveling to the United States for the next Grand Prix in the highly intense 2021 season. With Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen only separated by 6 points at the top of the table, there are only 6 races to go. It’s very possible that the championship battle might go down to the very end, and every race counts more than ever now.

That being said, in the last few races, in Turkey and Russia, the weather played a very important role in how the races went. So all the teams will definitely have an eye out for the weather predictions on the day of the race.

Weather predictions for the United States F1 Grand Prix

On Sunday, the day of the main race, it is expected that the weather will be humid with the sun shining and some clouds. No rain is expected as of right now. The probability of precipitation, as measured by Accuweather, stands at 17%. The temperature is expected to be between 29 degrees and 17 degrees.

It’s a similar story for Saturday when the teams will have the Final Practise and the Qualifying session, with the weather expected to be mostly sunny. The temperature is expected to vary between 30 degrees and 18 degrees. The probability of precipitation is even lower at 9%.

For Friday, the weather is expected to be warm and sunny, with the temperature varying from 31 degrees to 17 degrees. There is a 3% chance of rain, so it’s pretty much confirmed that the race weekend will be a dry weekend.

What about the team strategies for the US Grand Prix weekend?

Team strategies play out very differently with weather changes, and the sudden onset of rain introduces pandemonium to the grid, as we saw in Russia, where the rain started pouring down at the very end of the race. The drivers and the teams were put in a very tough situation as they tried to battle the dilemma of whether they should pit for inters or stay on the dry tires.

In the end, however, experience won the battle, as Lewis Hamilton made the right call about the tires and Lando Norris failed to do so. However, the race in the USA will probably have no element of luck as there is expected to be no rain, and only raw performance will make the difference between all the teams.
