Seattle Seahawks DE Darrell Taylor Carted Off Field After Game-Ending Injury

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Darrell Taylor left the field on a cart late in the fourth quarter after he reportedly picked up a neck injury in his Sunday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Taylor suffered a neck injury when the game got really tight in the end. The game went to overtime after both the teams tied at 20 points each. The last quarter of the game became even more eventful after the Seahawks’ defensive end collided with Najee Harris to stop him near the line of scrimmage and in doing so, he picked up a scary injury.

Darrell Taylor waved off by the Steelers fans

Taylor was then taken off the field after the medical personnel signaled for a cart. His head and neck were stabilized, and they placed him on the backboard as players from both sides surrounded him. Amid all the seriousness, Pittsburgh fans were seen waving him off at the Heinz Field as the trainers attended Taylor.

The 24-year-old defensive end was a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. His excellent pass-rushing capabilities made him shine at Tennessee, where he finished in the top five in sacks in the SEC twice. As for the Seahawks, the young DE started all five games this season. During which he recorded four sacks, a forced fumble, and 12 total tackles.

Taylor is moving all his extremities

“It was confirmed to me by Seahawks PR that he is moving all of his extremities,” said NBC’s Michele Tafoya. It is a good sign that the injury is not that serious and it might be possible that he will be returning to the team soon.

Seattle Seahawks lost the game to the Steelers with a three-point deficit. As they failed to score a point in the overtime. With a starting defensive end gone, the team needs a player to stand up for their side as the franchise has also lost their starting QB, Russell Wilson, for at least another two weeks.
