‘The Real CP3’: Twitter Fans Troll Chris Paul After Candace Parker Leads Chicago Sky to WNBA Championship

The Chicago Sky pulled off a great comeback to beat Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA finals. Candace Parker led her hometown to the WNBA championship as they won back-to-back games. This also marks Chicago’s first franchise championship and what better way to do so. However, while Phoenix Mercury lost, it was Chris Paul who took the heat.

After trailing for most part of the game, Chicago shifted gears and made a great comeback late in the game. For the Mercury, Brittney Griner did her part in establishing a significant lead. However, Quigley put some important points for the Suns to pull off the miracle comeback. This marks Candace Parker’s second WNBA title, her first coming in 2016.

Chris Paul has been one of the biggest supporters of the WNBA. Moreover, he also has a sweet spot for Phoenix being his own NBA team as well. So when the Mercury couldn’t hold onto their nerves in Game 4, twitter gave Paul the heat.

Twitter hails Candace Parker

Paul became a major target of twitter as Chicago lifted the WNBA championship. The real troll that came to him was the fact Parker also wears the number 3. While she won her second title in the WNBA, Paul is yet to win one in the NBA. This became the major base for trolling CP3.

Coming to Game 4, Parker had an all round great game. She put up 16 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. She also came up clutch hitting the game tying three. Apart from her, Allie Quigley hit three big shots from downtown in the fourth. She ended the game with 26 points while Vandersloot had major contributions with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 15 assists.

For the Mercury, Griner had yet another good game. She had a game high 28 points, recording no turnovers for the entire game. While Taurasi did score 16 points, she struggled as she shot just 4-16 from the field. Hence, Sky’s late game heroics helped them clinch their first ever WNBA championship. Kahleah Copper took the honors of Finals MVP, averaging 17 points and 5.5 rebounds through the series.
