BREAKING: Cam Newton On Seattle Seahawks Monitor Amidst Russell Wilson Injury And Geno Smith Uncertainty

Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots star Cam Newton recently claimed he wants to return to football. The quarterback took the COVID-19 vaccine which makes him eligible for any NFL franchise. One of the franchises that will monitor Cam Newton is Seattle Seahawks, who are in a slump.

Cam Newton on Seattle Seahawks radar

Despite having a steady squad, Seattle Seahawks have a poor record of 2-4. Wins against San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts in the season opener have been great. On the other hand, losses to Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers has left a bad taste in the Seahawks’ mouth.

During the game against the Rams, Russell Wilson suffered a finger injury that has ruled him out for three games. Geno Smith stepped into his place, but his first game did not go as planned. While it wasn’t his fault, it looks like the Seahawks are looking to replace their quarterback for the third time this season.

The #Seahawks will keep tabs on Cam Newton, but nothing has materialized as of now. They’re putting their faith in Geno Smith, and awaiting Russell Wilson’s return in the coming weeks. Cam Newton hasn’t played football this season at all. However, he remains an NFL phenom and always has significant buzz around him. Despite his controversial exit from New England Patriots, he has remained available as a free agent to other teams. Now, Seattle Seahawks have thrown their name in the hat, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

While this spells out bad news for Geno Smith, who deservedly started his first game in the NFL since 2017, most Seahawks fans will rejoice upon hearing this news. As for Russell Wilson, everyone in Seattle knows he will be the #1 QB, and he will resume in his role once his injury heals.

What’s next for the Seahawks?

Despite having a strong offensive line, Seattle Seahawks haven’t been able to get out of the blocks on many occasions. DK Metcalf lost the ball in humiliating fashion, causing the match against the Steelers to go into overtime, which led to an unfortunate loss. However, there’s no time for them to lament in their sorrows.

Coming up next is a difficult meeting with New Orleans Saints. The Louisiana outfit has looked strong this season, with a 3-2 start to the season. They had a bye for week six, and have enough time to prepare for the Seahawks. With a week to prepare, Seattle will have to pull up their socks and prepare to put down the Saints.

Geno Smith will most likely retake his role as QB1, with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf once again resuming their places on the field. Will the Seahawks emerge victorious, or will their slump continue?
