Fans Slam Tyson Fury for £8 Million Donation Promise He Made 3 Years Ago

The Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder trilogy was one of the greatest boxing trilogies. Both Fury and Wilder earned a lot of fame and fortune from all three fights. After their first fight back in 2018, Fury said that he would donate his entire fight purse to charity.

Even though the news is three years old, fans want to know whether Fury made the donation. Hence, nearly three years later, fans are questioning whether or not Fury actually made the donation. While many have claimed that he did not go through with that donation, ‘The Gypsy King’ has stated in quite a few interviews that he did go through with it.

Delete this tweet. It is false information and disrespectful to the homeless.

Are you using internet explorer on your AOL dial-up to get this info? This is old news and it never even happened

— Boxing Legends TV (@BoxingLegendsTV) October 18, 2021

Utter craziness he said this 3 years ago and no evidence he ever donated anything… some gullible people on here

— james (@james38266699) October 18, 2021

What a fantastic gesture. If only it had actually happened or had any intention of happening

Still, good PR for him though, eh?

Most journalists would follow up on this sort of grand gesture, see if it were true. Not boxing journalists though, might jeopardise their press pass.

Old news 2018!! & also fake news, actions are greater than words, no proof this ever happened
Fury not really known for his honesty

So, it’s been three years since this claim surfaced.

Did he donate his ‘purse’ to the poor and build homes for the homeless?

Or is this just a BS publicity stunt you hoped nobody would notice? pic.twitter.com/e2anHxabFf

Fury, however, is a generous man and has donated to many charities in the past. Recently, he donated and raised money for the kids’ foundation that helped save his daughter’s life.

Did Tyson Fury make the donation?

Reports suggest that Tyson Fury did indeed donate his entire fight purse to charity. Back in 2018, Fury was the challenger, and he traveled around Los Angeles to promote his fight. While touring, the number of homeless people he saw stunned him. Hence, he wanted to do something about it.

Speaking to the LA Fire Department, Fury vowed to donate his entire purse to charities in the UK to help build homes for alcohol and drug addicts. When he returned to the UK shortly after his fight, Fury told audience members in a meet and greet that he did donate his fight purse.

HOW STRANGE THIS SPORTSMAN’S CHARITABLE UNSELFISH DONATION OF ALL HIS EARNING OF 8 MILLION POUNDS TO THE HOMELESS IS IGNORED BY MAIN STREAM MEDIA!
HOWEVER HE DIDN’T SEEK THE PUBLICITY THAT SOME OTHER MEMORABLE NAMES DO!
DID HE?
WELL DONE TYSON FURY YOU ARE A MEGA HUMANITARIAN!! https://t.co/JjRoJ1Sssp

“I did give away my last purse but I don’t do charity work for a pat on the back. I do it to help people but I do not want praise for it, I don’t want to be called a do-gooder. They think I’ve just come here to pick up a few quid.” Fury said.

“But I couldn’t care less about the money. I don’t have much use for it. I’m planning to give it all away to the poor and for building houses for the homeless. I will probably wind up like all the other boxers down the years, skint.”

Do you think Fury gave away his purse to charity?
