Floyd Mayweather Ended Michael Jordan vs LeBron James Debate With One Simple Argument

Fans have been making their case for the GOAT debate for years now. That’s right, the one and only, unending Michael Jordan vs LeBron James discussion. From the most obvious to the craziest justifications, they have done it all to support their favorite NBA player. But what’s more fitting than another great athlete chiming in on the conversation and giving his opinion on the matter. It’s none other than Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather takes his pick in the GOAT debate

It’s crazy how two NBA players, who never even got a chance to play against each other and built their game in two different generations will forever be pitted against each other. However, even before LeBron James entered the NBA, analysts, organizations, and other players knew that he had the potential to be one of the greatest. So, this debate was nearly unavoidable.

Floyd Mayweather, who is aware of the greatest of all-time conversations himself, also decided to pick sides in an interview with Shannon Sharpe. He said, “I love LeBron. But one thing about Michael Jordan, he is going to come out there every night to kill you. Every night. LeBron feels like he playing nonchalant sometimes.”

“LeBron James, I am going to choose, if they played against each other, LeBron James is too big and strong and too fast. But if I had to choose one, I’d go with Michael Jordan. I gotta go with somebody that will give it their all, every night,” he concluded.

Will the LeBron James vs Michael Jordan debate ever come to an end?

These two players are some of the toughest to compare. They both have had different journeys to success and under very different circumstances as well. On one hand, Michael Jordan’s six straight NBA championships and a 0 game 7 appearances record is one that nobody will ever surpass.

On the other, there will be no one as dedicated as LeBron James to have appeared in the NBA Finals 10 times. It hardly matters whether he won 4 out of 6. A legacy is still a legacy. And because this topic is very subjective, there can neither be a right or wrong answer nor a consensus.
