‘I Have Danger in Both Hands’ – Ryan Garcia Releases Statement Following Surgery

Lightweight star Ryan Garcia reportedly suffered an arm injury ahead of his scheduled fight against ‘JoJo’ Diaz for the WBC Interim 135 lbs title and walked out from the bout. As it is his second withdrawal this year, Garcia has garnered hefty criticisms from the fans.

However, the unbeaten prodigy has appeared to be under serious scrutiny regarding his physical condition. Following successful surgery, ‘KingRy’ seems optimistic about his future plans. Right from his hospital bed, he alarmed his rivals.

On Instagram, Ryan Garcia shared updates regarding his arm surgery, and wrote, “Massive success now i have danger in both hands beware, I’m very happy.”

The lightweight division is exotic at the point with several A-listers advancing towards the world title picture. While Garcia could put his hands on the WBC Interim belt, the governing body had stripped him off due to inactivity.

Now, after his injury setback, it may be unlikely that he will get another world title 0r interim title shot upon his return.

What happened to Ryan Garcia?

2021 has been a dramatic year for Ryan Garcia. After being dropped for the first time against Luke Campbell, the youngster stopped his rival to become 21-0 and the WBC Interim champion.

Post the fight, he called out Gervonta Davis and clarified that he wanted no other opponent but ‘Tank’. A few weeks later, Garcia touted a potential showdown between himself and Manny Pacquiao.

To his disappointment, none of those fights happened and Ryan Garcia was lined up to compete against Javier Fortuna for the WBC Interim title once again. In July, ‘KingRy’ withdrew due to mental health issues.

He then returned to the news by confirming a showdown against Joseph Diaz in November, but an unfortunate fracture seems to have ended his 2021 campaign. Hence, despite having had such a promising start, 2021 will go down as a year to forget for Garcia.
