‘Talk S–t’: How Warriors’ Draymond Green Holds LeBron James a Status Higher Than Kevin Durant
When LeBron James gets on podium for his Hall of Fame induction, chances are he’ll discuss the Warriors in his speech. After all, his much successful second innings with the Cleveland Cavaliers coincided with the golden era of the Dubs Nation.
Also, in that address, LBJ might use the words, Draymond/Durant, because these names have given him some noteworthy bittersweet memories. And recently, a comment from the Warriors’ forward player further made a compelling case for this.
The very interesting relationship dynamics of these rivals
Both The Akron Hammer and Dray Green are foe on-court and friends off it. If not, why would they almost want to knuckle-punch one another on court while also collaborate off it? The Warriors’ star has also been on The Shop: Uninterrupted, a LeBron James and HBO production show, and has discussed everything Bron on it.
So clearly, their relation is that of two brothers who fight a lot. But surprisingly, the 6’6″ Money Green has given LeBron a status even taller than his former teammate Kevin Durant. Notably, both KD and Dray have also had on-court issues (remember the 24-point collapse), but they recently sat down face-to-face and ironed out those differences. And yet, Dray’s fresh revelation suggests something else.
In a latest interview, the 31-YO further gave reasons to believe the same. The 3x All-Star detailed, “I wouldn’t necessarily say it killed my pride because at the end of the day I knew that there was only one person in this league that can talk anything to me about anything basketball.”

He was perhaps discussing all the times the rival duo went through verbal altercations in their career.

LeBron James vs Draymond Green head-to-head
Well, Draymond Green entered the league nine years after LeBron James. In fact, The Dancing Bear saw his draft in the same year when Bron won his first NBA championship with the Heat. Lesser did he know how they’ll become NBA Finals frequenters in the approaching years.

Overall, the two have played 38 games against one another. Surprisingly, Dray holds a 23-15 record and an impressive 15-6 in the playoffs. It has always been Bron’s offense vs Dray’s defense whenever they were against each other.
One can’t forget that Game 4 from NBA Finals 2016 when Bron pushed away Dray’s hands and forced him on the floor. And even as a Laker, the L-Train last year (during play-in) had similar issues with Green under the rim.
So as an NBA fan, do you think these two make for the league’s best rivals (or would you rather choose Dray vs KD)? Help us know in the comments section below.
