Andy Ruiz Jr’s Father Pictures How His Son Can Beat Tyson Fury
Very few had envisioned Andy Ruiz Jr. to beat Anthony Joshua when the two locked horns for the first time in 2019. To everyone’s surprise, the Mexican heavyweight stopped Joshua in what turned out to be a massive upset. Hence, he became the first-ever heavyweight world champion from his country.
However, he crumbled down in an immediate rematch, which was his second professional defeat. Following a long layoff, ‘The Destroyer’ finally returned to the win column by beating Chris Arreola in May 2021. While he is back to becoming a relevant contender in the title race, Andy Ruiz Jr’s father believes his son can overpower Tyson Fury.
In a chat with ES News, Andy Ruiz Sr. detailed the factors that will benefit his son in a potential fight against ‘The Gypsy King’.

“I think Andy is gonna beat Fury. If this fight is gonna happen, I think Andy he got a tremendous potential to beat Fury. He got more experience than Fury, he likes to fight tall people. He don’t like to fight short people. So, I think he will have a lot of trouble Tyson Fury. Because Andy is shorter to go down. And Andy can hit anybody on the chin, body, everywhere,” said Andy Ruiz Sr.
Tyson Fury vs Andy Ruiz Jr. can actually be an intriguing fight. But it may not happen anytime soon as both men are at different positions in the current title race.
What’s next for Andy Ruiz Jr.?
After joining hands with Team Canelo, a lighter Andy Ruiz Jr. returned against Chris Arreola. Despite many expecting a KO, the same didn’t happen. ‘The Nightmare’ dragged Ruiz Jr. to the final bell in a fight that was on a knife’s edge. Ruiz Jr’s performance urged many people to doubt his chances against the elite heavyweight contenders like Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury.

Ruiz Jr. has immense power in his fist and needs to connect one excellent shot to floor his opponents. What was worrying was that he couldn’t find that punch in his last two bouts.
