The cast of Doctor Who: Flux just got even stronger, with stars of Line of Duty and Liar joining Jodie Whittaker and John Bishop on the new episodes

After a star-studded announcement just a few days ago, it’s now been confirmed that Line of Duty’s Rochenda Sandal, known for playing Lisa McQueen in series five, will also appear alongside Sam Spruell, who is known for roles in Liar, The North Water and Legend.

Joining them on the line-up is Craige Els (Ripper Street), Steve Oram (The End of the F***ing World), Nadia Albina (The One), Jonathan Watson (Two Doors Down), Sue Jenkins (Brookside, Coronation Street) and Paul Broughton (Clink, Brookside).

They’ll star alongside the previously announced cast members including Jodie, John and the returning Mandip Gill and Jacob Anderson.

Robert Bathurst (Cold Feet), Thaddea Graham (The Irregulars), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners), Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean), Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty), Sara Powell (Unforgotten), Annabel Scholey (The Split), Gerald Kyd (Cold Feet) and Penelope Ann McGhie (The Crown) will also appear in series 13.

Fans can also look forward to the Sontarans, Weeping Angels, Cybermen, and the Ood returning to their screens in new episodes.

Jodie’s time as The Doctor will be coming to an end next year, as it was announced that she will be leaving the show after four specials set for autumn 2022.

Series 13 to get through first, with an air date for Doctor Who: Flux – which will be one continuous storyline – set for October 31.

More: Doctor Who

Showrunner Chris Chibnall’s time on Doctor Who is set to come to an end in 2022, five years on from his selecting Whittaker to be the first female Doctor in 2017.

Speculation is already swirling over who will replace her in the Tardis, with Olly Alexander, Michaela Coel and Richard Ayoade ranked among the favourites.

Doctor Who: Flux arrives on BBC One on October 31.
