Doctor Who: Flux is closer than ever, and it’s now been revealed that series 13 will begin with the spookily titled episode The Halloween Apocalypse.
The title for the upcoming first instalment and a brief synopsis has been revealed, as anticipation reaches new highs ahead of the show’s return on October 31.
A picture has also been released by the BBC, showing new monster Karvanista – one of the furry, formidable foes the Doctor will be facing in the upcoming episode.
The synopsis for The Halloween Apocalypse reads: ‘A universe-spanning adventure in space and time starring Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill and John Bishop.
‘On Halloween, all across the universe, terrifying forces are stirring. From the Arctic Circle to deep space, an ancient evil is breaking free. And in present day Liverpool, the life of Dan Lewis is about to change forever.’
Dan is played by John Bishop, who joins the series for the first time for the new episodes – having initially been forced to turn down the role.

Doctor Who: Flux will feature one continuous story line, beginning later this month.
Jodie’s time as The Doctor will be coming to an end next year, as it was announced that she will be leaving the show the next series and four more specials set for autumn 2022.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other gathered press about her upcoming exit, Jodie discussed her emotions by saying: ‘You have to honour the show and to honour everything. Me and Chris, there was this thing of like, “We want to do three seasons”.

‘But no-one holds you to that so there was always a conversation, it was always fluid. But when you commit to that decision.’
She added: ‘This Doctor is Chris’s Doctor so for me it is right, but if everyone comes up to you forever going, “I’m a Doctor Who fan” then that is an absolute joy because it has been such a pleasure.
Doctor Who: Flux arrives on BBC One on October 31.
