“I’ll Talk To Him”- Marvin Vettori Says He Will Confront Paul Felder For Not Doing His UFC Commentary Job Properly

Marvin Vettori returns to action against Paulo Costa at UFC Fight Night 196 on October 23, 2021. This will be Vettori’s first fight, since his unanimous decision loss to UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 263.

Vettori recently was in the news for lashing out at former UFC fighter and now commentator, Paul Felder. Felder was one of the commentators at UFC 266, and The Italian wasn’t happy with his style of commentating; both had a back-and-forth on Twitter.

However, before his fight with Costa, ‘The Italian Dream‘ said that he plans to sort out whatever differences they have. He would rather they talk in person instead of having a go at each other on social media. In a recent interview, he said, “I’ll talk to him for sure. Whenever I see him, I’ll talk to him for sure. I just expect for anybody that does their work to be able to do their job properly. That’s what I ask. That’s the only thing that I ask. If he does it properly, then there shouldn’t be any problem.”

According to Vettori, the issue with Felder started during the fight between Dan Hooker and Nasrat Haqparast. The Italian fighter felt that ‘The Irish Dragon‘ was biased towards Hooker while calling the fight.

Marvin Vettori and Paul Felder’s war of words

Vettori and Felder had a war of words during UFC 266. Felder was calling the fights during the event, but that didn’t stop him from replying to Vettori’s comments. UFC middleweight fighter wrote, “Had to mute the comment on the fights, can’t stand Felder lol worst to ever do it.”

Am I using too many big words? I’m sorry Marvin

— Paul Felder (@felderpaul) September 26, 2021

The commentator was quick to respond to the tweet and said, “Am I using too many big words? I’m sorry Marvin.”

The issue escalated after Felder’s response, and both men kept taking a dig at each other.

Why? Because I have a job? Or because I called it like it was in your last fight?

— Paul Felder (@felderpaul) September 26, 2021

Well I’ll do my best not to do that on October 23. I think you are a talented fighter Marvin. I don’t mean to upset you but I call what I see. If you don’t like it that’s not my job. Talk soon.

‘The Italian Dream’ had a similar problem with Felder’s commentary during his title fight against Israel Adesanya, but he has clarified that was not the reason for the tweet.

Vettori said, “I just don’t like, and again, I came out saying this because I saw it happening to a friend of mine (Haqparast) and not actually to myself. Saying that, it actually happened to myself multiple times and one of the times was actually my last fight.”

Both men will have an opportunity to sort out their difference before the fight on October 23, as the fighters meet the commentary team ahead of the event.
