Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde’s Trainers Go After Each Other in a Heated Verbal War

A high-class rematch between Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde is finally set to take place this year. This contest was in contention ever since the duo locked horns in 2020, wherein Arthur attained a split decision win. Yarde and his team were eager to bag the rematch and now this bout is slated to go on floors on December 4.

As this fight got announced, Yarde and Arthur’s teams were called for a pre-fight press conference. Here, both the technicians appeared in front of the cameras along with their trainers. Arthur was accompanied by his coach, Pat Barrett, and Yarde had his coach, Tunde Ajayi, on his side.

While fighters are expected to lose their cool, this media event saw both trainers exchange words and garner attention from the press.

Pat Barrett was on the front foot in this verbal exchange. He said, “I came into the dressing room to show you respect. You didn’t even look at me, bro… You’ve had a problem from day 1. I don’t have a problem, but you made a problem between me and you because, in life, it is about respect. I respect you, no matter what, even if I don’t like you, I still respect you.”

Later, Tunde Ajayi tried to respond to Pat Barrett with a one-liner. “Pat, you ain’t punching no one in the face,” he added.

The verbal assaults continued for a while, but they didn’t elevate to another level. Also, this shows how well both these trainers are hooked into this rematch.

Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde’s first fight went to the distance, and both of them fared well. Despite that, Yarde fell short of a win because the judges scored 115-114, 111-117, and 115-114 in Arthur’s favor.
