‘Need KY Back Out There’: NBA Players React to Nets’ Opening Night Loss to Giannis Antetokounmpo and The Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have won their season opening game against the Brooklyn Nets. The game ended with the final score 127-104. The Eastern Conference favourites clashed in the season opening game that saw some nerve-clenching highlights.

From the Giannis Antetokounmpo insane block to Jrue Holiday’s injury, the game was a series of mixed emotions for the Bucks. The players of both teams had some positives and negatives to take from this game. The Brooklyn Nets roster visibly missed Kyrie Irving on the floor. His offensive contribution could’ve made this game a much closer competition than it ended up being.

However, other players around the league took to Twitter to express how it felt watching the season opener. This is how other NBA players reacted to the first game victory for the Milwaukee Bucks.

What does this mean for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets?

As the Bucks clinched their first victory of the season, there are several takeaways from this game for both sides. For the Bucks, Giannis dominated the stat line with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists with 2 blocks and a steal. And in the disappointing 23 point loss, the one consistent element for the Nets was Durant’s performance. He dropped 32 points and had 11 rebounds with 4 assists.

However, the most surprising element for the Nets was Patty Mills who did not miss from the 3-point line tonight. He went 7 for 7 from the 3 point line. Moreover, he was the spark that the Brooklyn Nets needed to get going in the first quarter. Despite the loss, his performance is a key takeaway for Steve Nash’s Brooklyn Nets. Do you think Kyrie’s absence will have a long term impact on the Nets? Or will they recover from this loss?
