Peter Andre is not having a great time as he reveals he’s not felt so poorly in three years, forcing him to miss a performance of Grease.

The star, who was meant to be travelling to Manchester for his role in the musical, insisted he didn’t have Covid while speaking to his daughter Princess about his illness.

On an Instagram Live, Peter, 48, is reported to have said he wasn’t sure what to do, as he was due to travel but ‘is so sick’, as a so-called ‘super cold’ does the rounds.

His concerned daughter said: ‘How are you meant to do it like that? You’re going to be coughing.’

Bringing up the fans who had bought tickets to his show, the star – who plays Vince Fontaine in the production – conceded he was ‘pretty bad’, but road manager Carl Machin insisted Peter needed to ‘rest up’.

He said: ‘I know what you’re saying and I applaud you for it but one you look ill, two you sound awful and three you have to sing live vocals.

‘And also you’re going to be close to cast members, you’ve got to think how you’d feel if you gave two or three cast members what you’ve got and they have to have time off.’

Still worried about his fans who were keen to see him on stage, Peter said: ‘But people have bought tickets, I don’t want to let them down.’

With some sound advice, Princess chimed in: ‘I don’t think you should go, if you are up there singing and coughing, people are going to be like…

‘Just don’t go. Everyone is saying rest.’

Having done a PCR test that showed it was unlikely he had Covid, the star felt it was the flu – with a particularly nasty one hitting many in recent weeks – sharing he was double vaccinated, but is ‘aching and everything’.

His daughter with Katie Price then asked if this was the ‘worst’ he’d felt, with Peter saying: ‘I haven’t felt like this for two or three years.

‘I had Covid, but that was a different kind of feel, but that was horrible.’

Peter previously tested positive for Covid in January, with a rep for the Mysterious Girl hit-maker confirming he was tested for the infection after feeling ‘very week’ and ‘struggling to breathe’.

While he didn’t have a fever, he was left without his sense of smell and felt out of breath while going for a bike ride.

‘It’s quite unbelievable everyone has different symptoms, don’t avoid your symptoms,’ Peter later said, adding: ‘When I had symptoms I was absolutely convinced I didn’t have the virus.

‘I had body aches, a cough, it wasn’t as persistent enough that I thought I’d go and have a check.’

His wife, NHS doctor Emily MacDonagh also caught the virus in June last year.

Revealing their illnesses was ‘quite stressful’, Emily said on Loose Women: ‘I think we knew less than we know now. It was really quite a stressful time for us.

‘I kept away from the children completely for two weeks and luckily, I recovered completely.’
