Ruby Rose has launched a scathing attack on her Batwoman bosses and co-stars on Instagram, and shared allegations of awful working conditions behind the scenes.

The Orange Is The New Black actress left her lead role on the CW superhero series after just one season, and has now spoken out on her decision, claiming that there was a toxic atmosphere backstage.

In a lengthy string of stories on the social media platform, the 35-year-old said ‘enough is enough’ as she hit back at reports of her time on the programme, and called out showrunner Caroline Dries, former Warner Brothers TV chairman Peter Roth and her castmate Dougray Scott, who played Jacob Kane.

‘I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again. And so I can finally take back my life and the truth. Shame on you,’ she began.

Ruby then shared videos from a doctors appointment regarding an injury she said she suffered during filming, with a health expert discussing her injured ribs, as well as a clip of her in hospital undergoing surgery on her neck.

‘So in closing, please to my dear, dear fans stop asking if I will return to that awful show, I wouldn’t return for any amount of money nor if a gun were to my head,’ she continued. ‘NOR DID I QUIT. I DO NOT QUIT, They ruined Kate Kane and they destroyed Batwoman, not me.

‘I followed orders, and if I wanted to stay I was going to have to sign my rights away.’

Addressing show runner Caroline, Ruby alleged that she wanted the team to ‘finish the season throughout the pandemic’, which the actress said was a ‘bad idea’.

She claimed that when filming finally did shut down during lockdown, it was because ‘the government pulled it’.

The star ended her stories by alleging that co-star Dougray yelled at women behind the scenes and ‘was a nightmare’, adding that she tried to input a ‘no yelling policy’ on set, but claimed that this was declined by bosses.

Batwoman bosses and Dougray have yet to address Ruby’s claims publicly.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Dougray and CW for a comment.
