Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One For PlayStation, Xbox, and PC Reveals an Exciting Gameplay Trailer

The Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One trailer just dropped. Needless to say, it is pretty epic. The game revolves around the detective’s exploits on the island of Cordona. He uncovers some truths and searches for answers about his mother’s death. Considering the protagonist of the game, it is bound to involve a lot of detective work.

Minutes of the trailer

The game has the player looking for clues at the scene of a crime. What differentiates Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One from the rest is that the player is not spoonfed clues and hints. The game allows the player to mistakenly overlook a clue and move on with the plot based on a faulty assumption. The game progresses completely at the player’s discretion. This adds a layer of difficulty to the game, as the player cannot depend on the game’s mechanics to help them correctly complete the game.

After the clues have been identified, they can be put up for presentation via the evidence pinning system. With the right evidence, paired with logic, the player can get an answer out of people like suspects and people of interest.

Non-linear gameplay

The game is quite like sandbox in nature as it offers the player a lot of freedom. The way in which suspects are set up and treated is quite dynamic. If a suspect is identified early, the path the game takes will be quite different. The game can also require you to utilize a disguise.

This is done to not arouse suspicion from hesitant locals. The player can find various outfits located all across the island. It is up to the player to use their judgment to decide when and where to use the outfits and get more clues.

The game also appears to have a moral aspect to it. What might be a crime to some could be perfectly justifiable for another. Nothing is truly black and white. And the game offers the player the chance to make “wrong” decisions.

The game is set to release on November 14.
