Warner Bros. has responded to Ruby Rose’s claim that ‘toxic behavior’ on the Batwoman set led to her leaving her lead role after one season.

The Orange Is The New Black actress opened up about why she left the series in scathing social media posts on Wednesday in which she hit back at reports of her time on the program.

In a lengthy string of stories on the social media platform, the 35-year-old said ‘enough is enough’ as she called out former Warner Brothers TV chairman Peter Roth and showrunner Caroline Dries.

Hitting back to the star’s claims, Warner Bros. Television Group released a statement that read: ‘Despite the revisionist history that Ruby Rose is now sharing online aimed at the producers, the cast and crew, the network, and the Studio, the truth is that Warner Bros.

‘Television had decided not to exercise its option to engage Ruby for season two of Batwoman based on multiple complaints about workplace behavior that were extensively reviewed and handled privately out of respect for all concerned.’

Rose also called out her castmate Dougray Scott (Jacob Kane) who said in a separate statement: ‘As Warner Bros. Television has stated, they decided not to exercise the option to engage Ruby for season two of Batwoman based on multiple complaints about her workplace behaviour.

‘I absolutely and completely refute the defamatory and damaging claims made against me by her; they are entirely made up and never happened.’

In her headline-making posts on Wednesday, Rose stated: ‘I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again. And so I can finally take back my life and the truth. Shame on you.’

Ruby then shared videos from a doctors appointment regarding an injury she said she suffered during filming, with a health expert discussing her injured ribs, as well as a clip of her in hospital undergoing surgery on her neck.

She continued: ‘So in closing, please to my dear, dear fans stop asking if I will return to that awful show, I wouldn’t return for any amount of money nor if a gun were to my head. NOR DID I QUIT. I DO NOT QUIT, They ruined Kate Kane and they destroyed Batwoman, not me.’

Rose added: ‘I followed orders, and if I wanted to stay I was going to have to sign my rights away.’

Addressing showrunner Caroline, Ruby alleged that she wanted the team to ‘finish the season throughout the pandemic’, which the actress said was a ‘bad idea’.

She claimed that when filming finally did shut down during lockdown, it was because ‘the government pulled it’.

The star ended her stories by alleging that co-star Dougray yelled at women behind the scenes and ‘was a nightmare’, adding that she tried to input a ‘no yelling policy’ on set, but claimed that this was declined by bosses.

Actress Javicia Leslie has since taken over as the superhero, becoming the first Black actress to take on the role on television.
