Bo Burnham: Inside was hailed as a claustrophic, uncomfortable masterpiece when it was released earlier this year.
So imagine how uneasy we’d have felt at the time had we realised it was filmed in the A Nightmare On Elm Street house.
A listing for 1428 North Genesee Avenue in Los Angeles has revealed that Bo, 31, filmed his comedy special in the guest house of the home of Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) in the 1984 horror classic.
Yep, right by where Bo Burnham filmed his Netflix special, Freddy Krueger nearly drowned Nancy in a bathtub.
The house – which doubles as 1428 Elm Street in the movie – is actually owned by Hustlers director Lorene Scafaria, who bought the property for $2.1million in 2013.
The same year, Lorene started dating comedian Bo, and they live together in the Los Angeles home, which is now being sold for $3.25 million.

While the listing for the gorgeous three bedroom house doesn’t mention its famous inhabitants, it does big up its horror movie credentials, reading: ‘Cinephiles will immediately recognise Wes Craven’s iconic Elm Street facade.’
Lorene didn’t actually change much of the facade, keeping the green shingles, but she did paint the signature red door black.
Learka Bosnak of realtor Douglas Elliman told the Los Angeles Times: ‘The façade is iconic, but the ties to the movie stop as soon as you walk through the front door. Inside, it’s a beautiful traditional-style space with a modern twist.’
Bo filmed the entirety of Inside in one room without a crew due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the show dealt with difficult themes like depression, panic attacks and suicide.
But while it was shot to feel extremely claustrophobic, the fantasy is kind of ruined knowing that there was a private pool just outside his window, and Bo was a few feet from light, airy living areas and grand bathtubs.
The Dutch Colonial-style house, which was built in 1919, also popped up at the end of his previous special Make Happy.

Playing on the property’s place in horror history, offers on the home are due by midnight on Halloween, and sweets will be handed out to trick or treaters throughout the day.
Bo Burnham: Inside was met with widespread critical acclaim upon its release in May, and was considered one of the best examples of pandemic art from the past year.
