Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Becomes Advocate For Mental Health With Symbolic Gesture
More often than not, humans ignore mental health problems until they finally reach the boiling point. While prevention is better than cure is a mantra that many follow regarding maintaining physical health, but with mental health, things take a back seat. Fortunately, Dak Prescott wants to initiate a change.
Be it people being unaware of the importance of a healthy mind or being anxious to ask for help, it is high time that mental health awareness is at the forefront. This is exactly what Dallas Cowboys QB Dek Prescott achieved by wearing an “Ask 4 Help” wristband in his previous match against New England Patriots.

What is “Ask 4 Help”?
An alarming statistic reveals that in the age group of 10 – 34 and 35 44, suicide is the second and fourth leading cause of death, respectively. Mental health certainly needs a team effort as more often than not, people become anxious to seek help, thus piling on the misery on themselves.
Recognizing this problem, Dak Prescott launched his “Ask 4 Help” campaign last September in recognition of suicide prevention month. The communication behind the campaign is simple. To encourage people to ask for help and fight their demons together.
Why did Dak Prescott wear an ‘Ask 4 Help’ wristband
Dak Prescott is a fighter, both on and off the pitch. Be it fighting against tight defenses on the pitch or dealing with injuries, over the years, the Dallas Cowboys QB has shown how to fight adversities. Prescott recently wore an “Ask 4 Help” wristband against New England Patriots to communicate a simple yet important message to the masses.
Through his symbolic accessory, the quarterback wants to urge people to speak up and know that they are not alone in their problems. Apart from using it as a tool for mental health awareness, the symbol also serves as a remembrance of his late brother, who committed suicide.
