James Harden Has a Surprising Reaction to Making the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players List

James Harden is a future Hall of Famer, there is no doubt about that. As a scorer, what he has accomplished in his career, probably was only last seen in Michael Jordan’s era. However, he did it in the modern era of basketball, which varies from the type of basketball Jordan had to play.

Hence, it can be said that James Harden was, at a time, the best scorer in the league, especially with the revolutionary changes in the league in terms of three-point shooting and drawing fouls. Consequently, he was named in the NBA’s Top 75 players to ever grace the court with his current teammate Kevin Durant.

James Harden reacts to making NBA’s Top 75 players of All-Time list

In a post-game interview, a reporter informed Harden that the NBA named him on its Top 75 players of All-Time list. At first, it seemed like Harden could not believe it. His first response was “Ever? Wow!”

And on his way out of the interview, he turned back to reconfirm if it was true. “Ever? Sheesh!”

It seemed like Harden took a moment to process the gravity of this accomplishment. Subsequently, he took to Twitter to essentially explain his reaction. He tweeted “surprised, grateful. never shook lol.”

It is natural that Harden is grateful to be on this list since he has never won a championship ring. Yet, his name was unveiled in the first 25 of this list names on this list, showing him how the league acknowledged and appreciated his individual efforts too.

Harden holds the record in the modern era of NBA basketball for the highest number of games in a row with 30 points or more (32 games). The only player in the history of the NBA All-Time to surpass this number is Wilt Chamberlain, but that man was a league of his own.

To even be in the same discussion as Wilt is a great achievement in itself. So, he shouldn’t have been surprised to have made this list. It was a question of when more than if.
