Paul Pierce Explains What Anthony Davis Needs to Learn From LeBron James to Prevent Injuries
The Lakers have been a hot topic ever since their winless preseason. However, not many saw them losing their first regular season game with the new ‘Big 3′ in place. But a major positive they could take from the loss was LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ performance. The latter looked healthy and fit for the center position, but he needs to keep his health in check.
It isn’t a surprise to hear that AD is one of the top players of the league. However, what restricts him most of the times is injuries. The LA star is constantly picking up injuries due to his size and workload. It is understandable for injuries to come once in a while, but for Davis it is frequent. On the other hand, LeBron James has almost equal workload but manages to stay fit all season long.

Recently, Paul Pierce went on the What’s Burnin’ podcast. There he spoke about how AD can benefit from having the ‘King’ around during the off season.

Anthony Davis needs to learn from LeBron James
While on the podcast, the question about Davis’ health came up. This is where Pierce spoke about how his body isn’t suited for the work that he does. Pierce stated that it is important to concentrate on things outside of basketball to be healthy. He also said that it is something AD needs to learn from the Akron Hammer.
Paul Pierce said: “You know, he got a good frame but I don’t think he really just focused on the offseason and the stuff away from basketball like we see LeBron. You know, because who takes a beating more? LeBron take a beating but he so conditioned. If AD follow LeBron on that off season workout and what they do when they not practicing, hitting the weights and doing all that, I think we won’t see him get hurt as much.”
James has always kept his fitness a big priority. Not only does he spend a lot on his body for the best treatments, but he religiously works out as well. His work on the court is always there, but outside of basketball, James is constantly working out and getting his body ready to face the wear and tear. This is something Anthony Davis needs to pick up from the ‘King’.
On the basketball court, AD is a beast when healthy. But because his body isn’t prepared enough, he gets injured constantly. While James has picked up minimal injuries in his 19 year career. If Davis can stay healthy all year, he would become one of the best players in the league without a doubt. With the skill he possesses, he needs to learn to make his body more adapt to the game.
