WWE superstar Xavier Woods made his dream a reality at Crown Jewel as he became King of the Ring.

The New Day star – who had made no secret of his desire to win the iconic tournament and even campaigned on social media for its return this year – etched his name in history on Thursday in Saudi Arabia.

Woods battled Finn Balor at the show after overcoming Ricochet and Jinder Mahal en route to the final, and he delivered on the big stage.

After some tense moments, he hit his flying elbow drop to get the big win, celebrating on his throne and declaring himself in charge as he brilliantly bossed a poor camera man around.

Not surprisingly, his win has delighted fans and fellow pros, with plenty of stars from WWE, AEW and beyond taking to social media to offer congratulations.

His New Day teammate Kofi Kingston tweeted: ‘HAIL TO THE #%^*+$& KING!!!!! LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO! #HailKingWoods (sic)’

When it’s done right, it’s beautiful.

Good people deserve those moments.

Congratulations my friend and now KING @AustinCreedWins 👑#KingoftheRing

NXT’s Dakota Kai referenced his non-WWE stage name Austin Creed as she wrote: ‘KING CREED’

Former WWE broadcaster Tom Phillips said: ‘All Hail King @AustinCreedWins!!!!!’

AEW star Cash Wheeler – who knows Woods from his own time as one half of The Revival in WWE – was watching too, sharing a shot of his tablet screen and adding: ‘KING WOODS’.

The dream has come true. 👑

His fellow All Elite Wrestling talent Shawn Spears summed it up perfectly as he gushed: ‘When it’s done right, it’s beautiful. Good people deserve those moments. Congratulations my friend and now KING @AustinCreedWins #KingoftheRing’

And NXT wrestler Ember Moon also weighed in, putting over exactly how much this means to Woods.

She said: ‘Congratulations @AustinCreedWins !!! I know how much you wanted this!!!! All hail king woods!!! (sic)’
