Cardi B and Penn Badgley’s playful interaction on Twitter has surprised fans, and now the singer wants a starring role in You season 4.

It all began on Wednesday when the WAP rapper joked that she’s now ‘made it’ after learning that Penn is a huge fan of hers.

Reacting to the flattering discovery, Cardi, 29, tweeted: ‘OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME !!! OMMMGGGG!!!!!! Yoooo like I’m famous famous.’

In what has been the most wonderful and random celebrity interaction this week, Cardi – real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – decided to shoot her shot on Thursday, and pitched a potential storyline for season four.

The singer took a screenshot of the Netflix profile and tweeted, ‘So it’s episode 1 and I’m at Paris Fashion week shutting it down! I turn around and there stands YOU Ok finish it off @netflix’

The streaming service entertained the performer’s well-thought-out pitch and sent a gif of Joe wearing a chef’s hat, adding, ‘Let’s role-play, I wear a disguise.’

They then showed a shot of Joe behind glass, adding, ‘I want you to park that big glass cage, right in this little garage.’

Cardi’s reaction was spurred by a video she found of Penn praising how ‘authentic’ she comes across as on social media, rarely afraid to tweet her mind or let fans into the most private of moments.

Speaking during a press conference to promote the latest season of You, Penn said: ‘She has such an authentic relationship. And to me, it’s such a nuanced place to be.

‘And despite what many might judge as “antics” and all this, I feel like she has an incredibly authentic relationship to [social media]. And I think that’s why people like her so much.’

Penn is currently starring in season three of You, which has earned rave reviews and is currently number one on Netflix UK. The series was renewed for season four just days before the latest one was released.

Season 1-3 of You are available to stream on Netflix.
