Former Celtics’ Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen Finally Bury the Hatchet After 9 Long Years
The 2010s Miami Heat might be remembered as the first big three of the modern era, but a couple of years before the Heat, it was actually the Celtics who built a godly super team in 2008.
While 2007 was a big struggle for the Celtics who ended up with one of the worst records in the league, 2008 was a different story all together. New executive Danny Ainge certainly took a massive risk as he paired Paul Pierce with the likes of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.
Given that the three stars came from similar situations, the Celtics’ gave them a perfect opportunity to prove their worth. The trio certainly delivered, as not only Celtics had one of the best records, they even defeated arch rivals Lakers to win their record 17th championship. But since then, the big three could never fulfill their championship heroics.

Be it injuries or teams like the Heat taking over, the Celtics stayed solid in their conference, but a title could never become a reality. Perhaps the nail in the coffin for the team was when Ray Allen, one of the big three’s pillars, left to join rivals Heat and even won a championship with them.

Celtics’ Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen finally bury 9-year-long beef
Ever since Allen’s departure, many core players of the Celtics were pissed. Be it Paul Pierce or even role players like Glen Davies, everyone criticised the former All-Star for bailing out on the team. But perhaps the most angry of them all was Kevin Garnett.
While the others eventually came at peace with Allen, KG never wanted to talk about the 2-time champion and even made it clear that his anger hadn’t dialled down in years when he posted a picture after intentionally cropping out Allen. But it seems like the duo have finally buried the hatchet on the same.
After the trio were named in the top 75 players to ever play in the NBA, KG congratulated both Pierce and Allen in an Instagram story. The former Heat guard was certainly appreciative of the same as he re-shared the same.
This is certainly great news for Celtics’ fans. After 9 long years, Garnett and Allen are finally on the same page and hopefully they celebrate their inclusion in the top 75 players list in style. What do you think about the duo reconciling? Let us know in the comments section down below.
