Katie Price leaves rehab after drink-drive arrest and heads on shopping spree

Katie Price was seen for the first time after beginning treatment at the Priory three weeks ago following a car crash last month.

The 43-year-old toted several shopping bags as she was spotted leaving boutique Sheen Uncovered before heading into a beauty salon in south west London.

Wearing a white hoodie and pink jogging bottoms, the reality star puffed on a vape as she made her way along the street, in photos obtained by The Sun.

A source told the newspaper Katie was shopping for her mother Amy’s recent birthday and remains committed to her recovery, after she recently pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and driving while unfit to drive through drink.

A friend said: ‘She’s committed to the treatment she signed up to and is still at The Priory undergoing their programme.

‘The shopping was actually for her mum Amy’s birthday. Things are much better — she has had an awful lot to deal with but things are calmer for her and she’s making good progress. It’s very reassuring for those who love her.’

An onlooker added Katie looked ‘well and happy’ noting: ‘It all looked very relaxed.’

Katie was arrested on Tuesday September 28 after the single vehicle collision on the B2135 near Partridge Green around 6.20am, and was taken to hospital afterwards.

Appearing at Crawley Magistrates’ Court last month, the star’s sentencing was deferred until December 15 to allow her to have treatment at the Priory Centre and speak to the probation service.

Chair of the bench Julie Hutton told her she was free to go but warned her against driving in the interim, saying: ‘We regularly send people to prison for driving whilst disqualified.’

Her family later issued a statement saying they have been ‘concerned about her wellbeing’.

The full statement read: ‘As a family we have for some time been concerned about Kate’s wellbeing and overall mental health. Today our worst fears nearly came true.

‘As a family we have been and will continue to help Kate get the help she needs.

‘We hope that she will realise that she cannot battle her issues alone. We would kindly ask that the media and wider public give Kate the time and space she needs to seek the necessary treatment, so she can hopefully return to the Kate we know and love as a mother, daughter and sister.’
