Ludacris hopes young girls around the world will ‘no longer feel alone’ after watching Netflix series Karma’s World

Ludacris’ Netflix series, Karma’s World, is already being praised by parents and fans across the world for putting issues faced by young black girls at the forefront.
Taking inspiration from some of the life lessons he taught his own daughter Karma Christine Bridges during her childhood, the famous rapper shared his passion project with the world in an attempt to try and help children celebrate ‘self expression’.
The impactful animated series teaches children that ‘you are never too young to change the world’ as they watch Karma Grant and her school friends take on life’s many challenges.
Speaking to Metro..co.uk about his intentions for the series, the rapper stated: ‘It’s gonna have a lot of young girls, and just children in general, feeling like they are not alone.’
He continued: ‘As a father, I just want to help the new generation and I guarantee this show is going to make that happen.’
The Growing Pains rapper opened up about the ways he took inspiration from issues being faced by children in the black community as he explained: ‘A lot of episodes are based on things that happened in [my daughter] Karma’s real life.

‘For example, there’s an episode based on her being proud of her hair and having different textured hair.’
The Fast and Furious actor explained becoming a parent made him eager to create a series that would speak to young children as he added: ‘Whenever you become a parent then you automatically start thinking about the next generation.
‘The whole reason that I did this show is to inspire and motivate people to be the next leaders and or the next great artist. I think that’s a whole new purpose in my lif,e outside of me being a good dad to my children. This is exactly what I set forth to do. I know it’s going to create a lot of good.’
The vibrant series follows Karma Grant, an aspiring musical artist and rapper with big talent and an even bigger heart. Smart, resilient, and deeply empathetic, Karma pours her soul into song writing, channelling her feelings into rhymes with passion, courage and her signature brand of humour.
Throughout the series, Karma begins to grasp the incredible emotional power that words and music can have.
Each episode features original songs focusing on issues such as self-esteem, body positivity, discrimination, friendship, family, creativity, expressing emotions, leadership, celebrating differences and more.

The Get Back rapper – who voices Karma’s father in the series – called the project his ‘legacy for his daughters’ as he told us: ‘I have all daughters and it’s changed me for the better.
‘I want to not only help my daughters out with their self-expression but to help all daughters and sons around the world, and even parents at this point.’
Karma’s World is available on Netflix, while the soundtrack is out now.
