WWE legend The Godfather has revealed how smoking cannabis cost him Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as a road trip buddy.
The Hall of Famer – who was part of the Nation of Domination with the future Hollywood megastar – admitted his habit caused The Rock some problems when people assumed he’d been smoking himself when he turned up for media appearances.
The star – whose real name is Charles Wright – told the It’s My Wrestling Podcast: ‘I smoke a lot of cannabis and always have. I’ve never hidden that fact and it was nice to be on TV letting people know.
‘And of course I would get in the car the first thing I would do is I’d spark up a joint. The Rock would do a lot of interviews and appearances, and he’d show up there [with people saying ], “We didn’t know you smoked weed.”
‘He goes, ‘I don’t smoke weed!” “You said that last time we saw you but every time we see you smell like weed!” He’s like, “I can’t ride with you!” ‘
Meanwhile, The Rock and Kevin Nash recently buried the hatchet on some behind the scenes beef.
The exchange was sparked last week when Nash revealed he was wearing Dwayne’s signature Under Armour shoes for his workout, and the Great One was impressed.
He replied: ‘You’re an inspiration my brother. In tremendous shape!!! Holy s**t. Way to raise the bar!’ Nash then responded and praise Dwayn’e ‘work ethic’ and even apologised for being ‘a d**k’ when he returned to WWE in 2002.
He wrote: ‘Following your lead. You’re work ethic is amazing. You’re filming schedule would kill most mortals but the promotion for your films is the grind. You film and promote at the same time.
‘Sorry I was such a d**k to you when I came back in 2002. Just trying to keep my spot.’
However, The Rock insisted there was no need ‘for any apology’ noting he understood where Nash’s head was at the time and explaining his own point of view.

He said: ‘Never a need for any apology big brother, but thank you very cool of you. You guys had to come back with some bite & venom.
‘I was living in the house you helped build, so I was pumped you, Scott & Hulk were coming back cause #1) I was always a fan and #2) most importantly.. I wanted us all to link up and make a lot of [money] (for us and the whole roster).
‘WM18 was huge and a career highlight for me. As was our big Mania buildup when we had a chance to have fun and rumble. It was a great time in our business! Wish we could’ve worked more! NWO4L (sic)’
