“Knows How To Score”: Sergio Garcia Reflects on Rafael Nadal’s Golfing Skills
Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal is a phenomenal athlete. The 20-time Grand Slam champ has shown his proficiency not only on the tennis courts, but on the golf course as well. Nadal has more than just a passing interest in the sport and has appeared in competitive tournaments as well.
Recently, a video emerged of Nadal in which he had an interesting swing style. Compatriot and professional golfer, Sergio Garcia, commented on Nadal’s swing and praised the 35-year-old for his technique.
Rafael Nadal and Golf have an old connection
Rafael Nadal’s follow-through motion seemed to have a slight hint of a tennis swing. For which we can’t blame the 13-time French Open champion as tennis is what he is best known for. However, his compatriot and fellow Golfer Sergio Garcia came across the clip and had an interesting take on it.
He stated, “Nice and short, compact for sure. I played with him a while ago and it was even more tennis-y then. At the end of the day though, he’s a competitor and knows how to score. He has a swing that works well for him.”

Since Rafa is still in the recovery process, he has been utilizing his time by getting more minutes on the golf course. He participated in the Balearic Mid-Amateur Golf Championship, a competition where Rafa has played before as well. Famous for his left-handed forehand, the Spaniard interestingly plays golf right-handed.

Coming to tennis, Nadal was seen competing in Washington the last time. He was unable to go deep, as his foot injury was still not allowing him to perform to the best of his abilities. Following that, he decided to end his season and set his sights on the 2022 season. We hope to see him come back soon on the Tour and compete for the biggest titles again (in tennis).
