Phil Mickelson Aiming to Create Significant Golf History at This Week’s Champions Tour Event

Phil Mickelson is one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour and is currently competing on the Champions Tour. Moreover, he is on the verge of creating history this week if he can secure a win. The 51-year-old has competed in four Champions Tour events so far and has an excellent record.

Meanwhile, he is looking to get a place in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, which is scheduled in November. But for that, he needs to deliver a good performance in the upcoming events. But what record will Phil create with a win this week? Let us find out.

Phil Mickelson aiming to create history with a win this week

Phil Mickelson, who is currently competing in the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, has a great chance of creating history. He has a chance of becoming the fastest player to win four events on the Champions Tour. Phil Mickelson has three wins in four starts, and no player has secured four victories in five starts.

Hence, if Mickelson can register a win this week, then he will become the first player in the history of golf to win four events in five starts on the Champions Tour. Meanwhile, the current fastest to four wins is Jack Nicklaus in six starts, and Gary Player did the same in eight events while Arnold Palmer, Loren Roberts, and Lee Trevino did it in nine starts.

Furthermore, four wins in five starts has never been done on the PGA Tour either. Hence, if Phil secures a victory this week, he will create a massive record in golf.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson has had a tough start to this event. He remained -1 after day one and is way behind the leaders. So if he wants to secure a win this week, he would want a miracle in the second and third rounds. So what do you think? Will Phil Mickelson manage to create this incredible record this week? Do let us know.
