Strictly 2021: Tilly Ramsay bounces back after bodyshaming with highest score yet

Tilly and Nikita stunned with their performance (Picture: BBC)

Tilly Ramsay has impressed the Strictly Come Dancing judges and audiences in a big way after she bounced back following a difficult week.

The social media star and her partner Nikita Kuzmin performed a stunning Foxtrot to Little Things by One Direction.

Her hard work clearly paid off, as she received a 36 from the judges – a nine from Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke.

Tilly admitted it’s been a ‘challenging week’, as she found the dance a struggle to get to grips with, and had her first university exam (which she absolutely smashed).

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old was also forced to speak out after comments made by LBC’s Steve Allen.

Steve branded her ‘a chubby little thing’ as he criticised her performance on the BBC competition show.

Tilly, who is the daughter of TV chef Gordon Ramsay, shared her response to Steve’s comments in a statement.

She told fans she ‘won’t tolerate people that think it’s okay to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance’.

In the lengthy post, the TV presenter and social media personality said that while she usually tries ‘not to read and listen to comments and negativity’, ‘recently being called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far’

Directing her statement at Steve, she continued: ‘Steve please feel free [to] voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance.’

Tilly said that it was ‘such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative’, adding that ‘this isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last comment made about my appearance and I accept that and I’m learning to accept myself’.

Jason Manford and Dr Alex George are among the stars who have come to Tilly’s defence after she was put down on the radio by LBC’s Steve.

Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow at 7:15pm on BBC One.
