Trouble in Paradise for Lakers? Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard Separated After Fighting During Timeout

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a tough spot going into their second game. Their preseason was a big failure. However, fans expected a bounce back in the regular season. But a disappointing loss to be Warriors saw those hopes crash as well. Now, they will be desperate to get to winning ways as they take on the Phoenix Suns in their second regular season game.

Like the Lakers, the Suns also took a loss in their first game. They lost to the reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. While that game had it’s turnarounds, it is clear that the stars are yet to settle in. But the Suns have an encouraging history with the Lakers from last season. However, this time they face a stronger and fully healthy LA team who is hungry for a win.

With the Suns holding a lead, the Lakers have had a sloppy second quarter. With frustrations running high, AD and Dwight Howard seemed to have a near altercation.

Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard fighting on Lakers bench

Right before the timeout, Howard was displeased on the floor. He was arguing with Rondo and did not seem to be happy about something. So, while on the Lakers bench, Davis was talking to Dwight. This is when the center got up and AD put his hands on him, causing the remaining to separate. Even before going to the floor, the two had to be separated from each other.

A true battle of point guards is taking place at the Lakers-Suns game. Both Chris Paul and Westbrook are taking the playmaking job and making things happen for their team. For the Suns, Paul has already dished 10 out assists at half time with 11 points. Booker put up points towards the end and has 8 at the half. Bridges is doing it on both ends of the floor with 12 points to go with 2 steals while holding the ‘King’.

For the Lakers, Westbrook has already put on a better performance since last game. He currently has 8 point, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. LeBron James is in foul trouble and did not play much of the second quarter. Anthony Davis is having a bad night with just 4 points shooting 20% from the field. Bench is showing out tonight as they combine for 16 points in the half.
