WWE legend Jim Ross has confirmed he is battling skin cancer.

The 69-year-old veteran broadcaster – who has been part of the commentary team for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since April 2019 – revealed on Saturday he has been diagnosed with the disease and is now awaiting a decision on the ‘best’ course of action.

However, the star revealed he is ‘feeling great’ and will still appear on tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

He tweeted: ‘On my way to Orlando for tonight’s @AEW Dynamite. Skin cancer confirmed.

‘Waiting on radiologist study to determine best treatment. Likely radiation. Feeling great and ready to attack. Thanks for the support from so many.’

The news comes just days after Good Old JR told fans he was going in for a scan.

He had revealed: ‘Been dealing with this for over a year. Potential skin cancer issue. Cat Scan today. Hopeful for good results. Staying positive.’

Plenty of fans are rallying behind Ross and wishing him the best in his health battle.

One fan wrote: ‘Get well soon legend’.

Another added: ‘Sending positive vibes your way, sir. You’ve got this!’

And a different fan tweeted: ‘Thoughts and prayers get better soon (sic)’

Towards the end of 2018, JR underwent surgery for skin cancer as he had ‘a little’ removed from his shoulder.

He said at the time: ‘I’m getting a little cancer surgery on Thursday. I’m having some more skin cancer removed from my shoulder. There’s just a little of it left, but you want to get all of it. I’m getting that cut out on Thursday.’

Speaking on his own Grillin’ JR podcast at the time, he also reflected on Roman Reigns giving up his Universal Championship just days earlier as he battled leukaemia.

‘Sometimes in our lives in wrestling, when we think we’ve seen everything, something comes along once or twice in a career, maybe once in a lifetime, that creates an event or a moment that can’t be replicated with auditions and scrips and rehearsals and walkthroughs,’ he said.

‘The fact that WWE allowed Roman to come to the ring and make this announcement in his own words, and I assure you, they were in his own words, I thought was very admirable.’

Reigns returned in February 2019 and revealed his leukaemia was in remission, and he’s gone onto become the biggest star in WWE.
