Angela Black viewers still convinced Ed is real despite police claiming he’s been made up

Angela Black viewers are convinced that Ed really does exist despite Angela being sectioned for ‘making him up’.
In scenes that aired tonight, Angela (played by Joanne Froggatt) was arrested after pointing a gun at her husband Olivier (Michiel Huisman) and locking her two sons inside her house.
The emotional moment followed the mum believing that a man, Ed (Sam Adewunmi), had broken into their home in the middle of the night.
During the incident, Angela ran to a neighbours house where she called the police, but they couldn’t find that anyone had broken in.
At the police station after her arrest, Angela was told that a lot of her claims resembled the storyline of a book written by a man named Ed Harrison, and coincidentally, her husband Oliver had found the novel in their home and had given it to them.
Despite Angela saying she’d never seen the book before, Angela was told she was being taken to hospital for the sake of her mental health.

‘There is no Ed, Angela,’ they told her. ‘Given your history, we believe you’re suffering from a mental breakdown.
‘For your safety, we’re going to keep you in hospital under section two of the mental health act.’
Viewers have been sharing their theories on Ed’s identity in recent weeks, but after tonight’s episode, they’re leaning towards the idea that Ed is real and is working with Olivier.
‘Ed is definitely real,’ wrote one. ‘The husband and Ed have both manipulated her perfectly. This is a next level of mental abuse. Sickening!’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘I think Ed exists – he’s in cahoots with Olivier to make her look crazy.’
‘The husband has well and truly set her up, along with Ed, whose real name is obviously not Ed,’ a third said. ‘3 episodes to go so she’ll somehow turn it around and all will be well.’
