Celtics Injury Report: Bad News on Jaylen Brown Before Houston Rockets Game

The Boston Celtics historically have been one of the best teams in the NBA ever. With a record 17 NBA championships tied with the Lakers, the Celtics have had some incredible title runs and players.

While they are undoubtedly a powerhouse in the East, they haven’t had a fight at championship since 2010. While they do have some incredible young talents like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, the Celtics have failed to build a good supporting cast around the duo.

After suffering from multiple injury woes last season, Tatum and Co. couldn’t even make it through to the first round losing in five games. But with a fit squad and some minor tweaks to the roster, the team is finally back to compete for the Eastern Conference title.

Celtics’ star Jaylen Brown questionable against the Rockets

The NBA season is finally upon us. While some teams have had a flawless start, the Celtics haven’t opened their win count so far. Despite Jaylen Brown dropping an incredible 46 points, the Lakers lost their first game in OT.

But things got worse in their second game. Brown, who started off his season in incredible style only had 8 points in his second game despite playing 28 minutes. But it seems there might be a reason towards the result.

Celtics Injury Report at Houston Rockets on Sunday:

Jaylen Brown – Left Patella Tendinopathy – QUESTIONABLE

— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) October 23, 2021

Ahead of their third game of the season against the Houston Rockets it seems like the birthday boy might miss the game after all as he is questionable because of a Left Patella Tendinopathy. This is certainly a massive blow for Boston who haven’t seen big performances from Jayson Tatum so far.

Given how effective Brown has proven to be a two-way player, the Celtics might end up missing a key piece in the 25-year-old. But the Rockets have been a wild card so far on both ends of the floor. If the Celtics can silence their backcourt, the Rockets might be in trouble.

Last season, the Celtics truly saw Jayson Tatum putting up some big time performances and a step up in his numbers as well. If JB can repeat the same feat as Tatum, the Celtics will have a great 1-2 punch, which will instantly make them a dark horse contender. Will the Celtics win their first game of the season tonight?
