Former Lakers Star Makes a Return to the NBA for a Different Team
Former Lakers star Lance Stephenson has returned to the NBA as he got drafted into the G-League as the 13th overall pick. He last played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019 before leaving for the Chinese Basketball Association. Stephenson played for the Liaoning Flying Leopards in the 2019-20 season. Considering that he is still only 31 years old, he has a lot to offer to this league.
In China, Stephenson averaged 26.7 points and 7.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. And he has now returned to the NBA with Denver Nuggets’ G-League affiliate Grand Rapids Gold.

The Grand Rapid Golds have agreed to give Lance Stephenson another chance to earn his way into the NBA. Especially after a shaky first stint that saw a rather inconsistent display for various teams. However, his experience from the NBA would definitely be useful for the Golds. Stephenson has already played 9 seasons in the league. However, he did that with 7 different teams including the Lakers‘ LA rivals, the Clippers, and the Indiana Pacers.
In China, he helped his team reach the East Asia Super League Terrific 12 and was named the most valuable player of the league. Consequent to his leadership performance with the Leopards, Stephenson has finally made his way back to a trajectory where he could see himself playing in the league soon.
