Mabel is said to be the latest artist lined up to be a judge on Simon Cowell’s new talent show Walk The Line.

Weeks after it was that Craig David has been given a spot on the panel, it’s been reported that the Finders Keepers singer, 25, is set to join him and music mogul Simon for the ITV series which is launching later this year.

It’s already been confirmed that the programme will be fronted by Maya Jama.

‘Mabel is somebody the producers have been in touch with for a while now,’ an insider claimed. ‘They think she would bring something really fresh to the panel.

‘There have been initial discussions, but no final decision has been made yet.’

A source added to The Sun: ‘Bagging a hot star like Mabel is a real coup for the series.’

Mabel, full name Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, shot to fame in 2017 with her breakthrough hit Finders Keepers.

She went onto release her debut album, High Expectations, two years later and it entered the UK Albums Chart at number three. It included the top 10 singles Don’t Call Me Up, Boyfriend and Mad In Love.

The star has received numerous awards and accolades throughout the course of her career, including the Brit Award for British female solo artist in 2020.

Earlier this year, Mabel entered the Love Island villa to perform for the contestants at an intimate party.

Walk The Line will see a variety of musical acts, solo artists, choirs and bands compete to win the £500,000 grand prize, but there’s a catch: the longer an act stays on, the bigger their prize pot will be as they will then have to compete against a fresh set of musicians.

The two acts judged the best each week have to decide if they want to take some of the money and leave the competition or walk the line to move on to the next stage.

Simon’s latest project was confirmed days after he decided to call time on The X Factor after 17 years.

X Factor was a huge hit and helped launch the careers of some of the biggest names in music such as One Direction, Little Mix and Olly Murs, so naturally, we can’t wait to see what happens with Walk The Line.

Walk The Line will debut on ITV later this year.
