Mick Schumacher’s Sister Gina Schumacher Gets Behind the Wheel of His Haas F1 Car at COTA

The United States Grand Prix is one of the fewest Formula 1 events that tend to capture the presence of some well-known faces in either the paddock or the garage itself. Well, this time around, the home team, Haas, had a visitor over the Mick Schumacher side of the garage.

It was Mick’s very own sister, Gina-Maria Schumacher. The 24-year-old German spent her Saturday revolving around Haas pit garage and even snapped a picture of herself seated in the cockpit of Schumacher’s F1 car. Haas took to Twitter to reveal the same.

They further wrote a caption that read, “Sibling in the seat.”

While Mick chose to follow his father’s footsteps by breaking into the world of open-wheel racing, his big sister, Gina, followed her own path instead. The German is a non-professional horse rider and even received a gold medal in Switzerland back in 2017.

Tough day in the office for Haas’ Mick Schumacher

The Schumacher Jr is just not able to catch a break since he made his way into Formula 1. Haas have hardly improved since 2020. If anything, the American team have only dropped further away from the rest of the grid, and one can say that Mick signed his deal at the worst possible time with the team itself looking to find their ground.

16 races of no wins, podiums, or even a point. And despite the diminished hopes, a few would have desired Haas to score a point or two in front of the home fans. Unfortunately, that wasn’t meant to be, as neither of the drivers could even make it to the top 15.

And this result comes after 3 drivers retired from the race, and consequently, only 17 cars were running. Mick came home in P16, and the only positive is that the German managed to beat his own teammate, Nikita Mazepin.

Looking ahead, things are certainly not going to change for Haas, and it wouldn’t be much of a shock if they leave this season with 0 points in hand. But, despite the massive odds, can Mick or Nikita pull off a heist to gain a point for the struggling Haas before the end of this season?
