United States Grand Prix: Wind & Heat To Grip COTA on Sunday in Latest Weather Forecast Update

The United States Grand Prix is finally here after a year’s hiatus. However, like any other Grand Prix this year, weather can play a crucial role in how the race pans out.

Teams and drivers have raced in horrid conditions this year, and are wanting to know if they should face similar conditions at the Circuit of the Americas this Sunday. So what is the weather forecast for the US Grand Prix?

Will there be showers at the US Grand Prix this weekend?

There has been rain at various venues this season. However, for the race in Austin, showers won’t be present at the Circuit of the Americas. Instead, the weather is said to be sunny throughout the race.

When the lights go out for US Grand Prix, the temperature is said to be 23 degrees Celcius with zero precipitation. While humidity is said to be at 40%, and winds reaching a speed of 11 km/h.

As the race heads into its closing stages, the temperature will be at 28 degrees celsius, humidity at 33%. While precipitation will still be at zero, and winds reaching a speed of 13 km/h.

Who’s on pole position for the race in Austin?

Saturday’s qualifying session was an intense one; particularly the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. However, this time it wasn’t the 7-times world champion securing pole position for Sunday’s race. Instead, it was his arch-rival from Red Bull.

The Dutch driver will see the five-red lights from the very front of the grid, while Hamilton will be in second. Nevertheless, the Mercedes driver will throw everything at the Red Bull prodigy to steal the lead from him.

While on the other hand, Verstappen will aim to keep Hamilton in the rearview mirrors till the chequered flag and grab another win this season to further extend his lead in the championship.
